In college, there was always a set path for me to follow: class, homework, and tests. That all changed after graduation. For the first time, I didn't have a set plan as to what I was going to do. The world is now a blank canvas in which I was able to do what I wanted. While it sounded good at first, things don't go as planned.  I wanted to be a veterinarian when I was a kid, but I ended up graduating with a different degree. I had everything figured out at such a young age and now having nothing figured out was very daunting. Knowing what I wanted to do for the rest of my life has been very challenging and difficult. Not everyone is fortunate to be in a job they are passionate about.

For 10 years I wandered around aimlessly and taking any job opportunities in front of me. I was a teacher at a Montessori school, an academic coach for students with disabilities at a community college, a behavioral therapist for children with autism, and then an administrative assistant specialist for an environmental lab company. No matter what I did or where I was, I felt stuck and unsatisfied. I wasn't happy and didn't feel fulfilled. Over time I realized that I wanted to do more and be more, but I wasn't sure how exactly to get there. One thing I knew was that I didn't want to sit behind a desk the entire time from the typical 8 to 5 job. I felt burnt out working for others.

I brainstormed, researched, and asked myself questions. What did I want in life? What makes me truly happy? What kind of business did I want to create? The answer always came back to being with dogs. When I see dogs, they always made me happy. I didn't succeed in becoming a veterinarian, but I could always be involved in another way working with dogs. So how can I combine both of these two wonderful ideas together?

I decided to take the biggest risk in my life and quit my job to focus on what really mattered to me. I refocused and put all my energy into school full time to obtain my dog groomer certificate. Fortunately, I found a posting online for an old ambulance that was converted into a mobile grooming truck. The previous owner happened to be a dog groomer, was moving and had to sell his truck. I drove to see it in person and instantly knew that it was the vehicle for me! My business name, Pupwash911, came to be shortly after.

For someone who craves stability, isn't a risk taker at all, and doesn't have a background degree in business - it was the scariest, but most liberating decision! Even though I had so many doubts and insecurities, I just had to try given the perfect timing.

Growing up, I've always had a passion for animals, especially dogs. I loved all types of dogs even though I didn't have my own until my early 20’s. I grew up with other small pets in the household, but a dog was still always my favorite. I believe that they are our best friends, our family, and our most loyal and true companions. Bella isn’t your typical dog. She’s a rescued Formosan Mountain Dog from Taiwan. When my family and I laid eyes on her in 2011, that's when she changed my life forever. She has provided me constant companionship and unconditional love. During my tough times, she was always there to guide me. She has taught me to enjoy life and live in the moment. I love my dog very much that I was involved in many events with her and brought her out with me wherever I can. We've entered costume contests, volunteered our time together as a therapy dog, modeled for dog accessories, given an opportunity to be a “celeb dog” at Old Pasadena, participated being an extra in a dog documentary called Super Dogs (which is in selected theaters now), participated in Placentia’s second annual Bark Walk at Kraemer Park and was on the front cover of the OC Register, traveled locally, and finding fun activities to do with her. Because of her companionship and unconditional love, I wanted to give back to her in my own way.

To me, Pupwash 911 is all about bringing the best out of dogs and their owners. Just like my dog brings the best out of me. Pupwash911 is a premium full-service mobile dog grooming. I want to provide the best care and most thorough dog grooming services available in a fun and loving environment. I want to create a family; a place where the dogs love to come to me and feel taken care of. It is important for me to know that I am making a difference in the life of every dog I service. I believe what sets my business apart from others is my work ethic and drive. I want to make sure each dog gets the tender loving care that they deserve. I provide a small boutique shop, so it’s a one-stop shop right to your front door! I have curated a selection of high-quality accessories, toys, and treats available for customers to browse. As a typical dog groomer who takes transformation photos of ‘before’ and ‘after’ shots of their cute fluffy clients, I wanted to educate other dog lovers as well. I decided to start a blog on my website. This blog will be a space for various topics that I will post occasionally. Topics will include: all things dog related, who I am, where my inspiration comes from, how and why I started a mobile dog grooming business, the challenges I encounter along the way, dog events and expos, possible future collaborations, behind the scenes of my business, and many more! It’ll be fun and informative all at the same time.  If all goes well in a few years, I would love to eventually open a physical store in the future.

None of this would be possible without my family, friends, and boyfriend with their love and support. I am thankful for the ones whom I have known since childhood and the ones I’ve met along the way.
