Simple Beginnings
Our story began in 2004, when founder Tina Nguyen was searching for high-quality pet products that both she and her first dog, Jax, could love. When she couldn’t find products that combined comfort, quality and thoughtful design, she decided to create them herself.
Her vision was simple: create exceptional pet products that are beautiful enough for the home, comfortable and durable enough for everyday life, and thoughtfully made with quality materials.
More than 20 years later, Jax & Bones has grown from that simple idea into an established pet lifestyle brand, creating premium dog beds, toys and accessories for dogs and the people who love them. Along the way, our products have been carried by more than 3,000 independent pet retailers, five-star hotels and some of the country’s most recognized names, including Crate & Barrel, Williams Sonoma and Nordstrom.
Through it all, one belief has remained the same: dogs are family, and the things we choose for them should feel like part of the home, too

Inspired by family. Shaped by Design
How we started
Jax & Bones grew from two things Tina has always loved: dogs and great design.
Tina’s appreciation for beautiful fabrics, quality construction and craftsmanship began with her family. Mentored by her mother and surrounded by upholstery and interior design from an early age, she learned to appreciate the details behind something truly well made.
She brought that perspective to Jax & Bones, approaching pet bedding with the eye of a furniture maker and the heart of a dog lover.
Today, Tina is also the owner of Upholstery West, a Los Angeles upholstery company with a history dating back to 1970. It brings her worlds of furniture, textiles and pet design together and continues a tradition of craftsmanship that has influenced Jax & Bones from the beginning.
Those roots continue to shape the way we design today.

Jax may have inspired our first product, but he also gave us something much bigger: a way of looking at the relationship between dogs and the people who love them.
